RMEA REBATES

RMEA has its eye on the future for energy efficiency and is committed to creating new programs specific to the needs of our residents and businesses. As a customer of RMEA, you benefit from having cleaner, renewable electricity at competitive rates. But you can also benefit from lower carbon emissions, a more comfortable home, and lower utility bills through programs offered by RMEA.

Residential Solar Rebate Program

The Residential Solar Rebate Program seeks to encourage the installation of new solar power systems and solar system expansions which will save energy and money, as well as increase the value of your home.  RMEA’s Residential Solar Rebate Program offers an incentive of a one-time $500.00 rebate to any residential RMEA customer who installs a new solar system or expands an existing solar system with a permit issuance date on or after May 1, 2018. This will result in lower out-of-pocket costs for your investment in upgrading to renewable energy efficient technology and reduce electricity bills.

Rebate Request Digital Form Submission

Your system must be finalized, you must receive the Permission to Operate by SCE and you must meet all program guidelines prior to applying. Complete this application form fully, sign the form and provide all supporting documents. Supporting Documents: If property is held by an entity, or POA- upload signing authority documentation.

Applicant Information

I agree the following statements are true and attest that all information contained herein and supporting documentation provided with this application are true and correct: 1. I am the property owner of the Rancho Mirage property identified as “Property Address of Install” above. 2. I am, and intend to remain, a RMEA Net Energy Metering (NEM) customer. 3. The install is a new solar system, expansion of an existing solar system and/or solar battery storage.

By signing this rebate request, I/We declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of California that the forgoing and all supporting documentation is true and correct, that I/We have full authority to do so.



 
OTHER LOCAL PROGRAMS OFFERED TO RMEA CUSTOMERS

Electric Rebates and Programs

Rancho Mirage Energy Authority customers are eligible to participate in most Southern California Edison (SCE) programs that help conserve energy and lower bills. Rebates are often available for energy-efficient appliances and upgrades. SCE also offers resources and programs to help manage costs, reduce energy usage, and get payment assistance.

Regional Energy Network Rebates and Programs (SoCalRen)

The Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN) provides services to residents, businesses, and public agencies throughout the areas served by SCE and SoCalGas, including RMEA customers, to achieve high levels of energy savings in Southern California. Programs are available to support homes, businesses, and public facilities.

Multi-family Green Initiative

The Fannie Mae Multifamily Green Initiative provides mortgage financing to apartment buildings and cooperatives to finance energy and water efficiency property improvements. They also serve the multifamily market by integrating sustainability considerations into our underwriting, asset management and securitization processes.

Federal Tax Credits for Consumer Energy Efficiency

ENERGY STAR products eligible for tax credits are independently certified to save energy, save money, and protect the environment. Today, the only federal tax credits for energy efficiency improvements that remain in effect are for solar energy systems (solar water heaters and solar panels). These federal tax credits remain in effect through December 2021.

Business Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC)

Receive a corporate tax credit from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service for eligible renewable technologies such as: Solar Water Heat, Solar Space Heat, Geothermal Electric, Solar Thermal Electric, Solar Thermal Process Heat, Solar Photovoltaic, Wind (All), Geothermal Heat Pumps, etc.

Renewable Electricity Production Tax Credit (PTC)

Receive a corporate tax credit from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service eligible renewable technologies such as: Geothermal Electric, Wind (All), Biomass, Hydroelectric, Municipal Solid Waste, Landfill Gas, Tidal, Wave, and Ocean Thermal, Wind (Small), Hydroelectric (Small).

Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP)

SGIP offers rebates to residential, commercial, industrial, government, and non-profit customers who install qualifying types of distributed generation to meet all or a portion of their own energy needs. The SGIP can help reduce your greenhouse gas emissions while also helping reduce electrical system demand, which in turn helps reduce the need to build expensive fossil fuel-fired power plants.

CARE, FERA, and Medical Baseline

RMEA CARE, FERA and Medical Baseline customers save even more with RMEA. Customers enrolled in RMEA continue to receive their CARE, FERA, and Medical Baseline discount within their Southern California Edison delivery charges; there is no need to reapply with RMEA.
